Nerf Super Soakers

2010 is the first year that Nerf has owned the Super Soaker line, and I for one am impressed with what they have done with it.  Here are my reviews of all four of the 2010 Nerf “SOAKER WARS” Super Soakers.

Nerf Super Soaker Shot Blast

I predict that the Super Soaker Shot Blast will be by far the most popular of the 2010 Nerf Super Soakers. It just *looks* cool. And really, who doesn’t want a water gun that has an adjustable shoulder stock on it? Anyone? No? That’s what I thought.

One of the best parts about the Super Soaker Shot Blast is its large capacity tank. I don’t know exactly how much it holds, but I will tell you that Nerf has done a great job of balancing water capacity with the weight of the water gun. Water can be HEAVY, and the Shot Blast will never weigh you down.

To fire the Shot Blast, all you have to do is slide the handle forward and then pull it back. It’s simple and fast, and best of all, you can expect to shoot water 20-25 feet, which I find pretty impressive for a water gun you don’t have to repeatedly pump to prime.

If you’re a fan of Nerf guns, you’ll probably notice the tactical rail on the top of the Shot Blast. It will be interesting to see what attachments Nerf comes out with for these water guns, so stay tuned!

Nerf Super Soaker Bottle Blitz

The Super Soaker Bottle Blitz has one feature that the rest of the Super Soaker lineup doesn’t have, and that’s a changeable tank.

Now, the Bottle Blitz only comes with one tank, but the good news is that soda bottles fit perfectly into the gun. The great part about this, of course, is that you don’t have to buy special refill bottles at a premium price. The bad news is that soda bottles are pretty ugly, but really, when you’re spraying your friends with water, who cares?

The range on the Bottle Blitz is about the same as the Shot Blast. The primary advantage is its small size and swappable bottles.

Nerf Super Soaker Hydro Fury

You definitely wouldn’t want the Super Soaker Hydro Fury to be your primary water gun, but thanks to its small size, it makes an incredible backup.

To use the Hydro Fury, all you have to do is repeatedly pump the plunger. The water gun retains the air pressure very well, so you can pump it up, leave it, and trust that it will be ready later when you need it.

On average, the Hydro Fury shoots between 13-20 feet.

Note: Each package comes with 2 water guns, one red and one blue.

Nerf Super Soaker Rattler

At its core, the Nerf Super Soaker Rattler is a more compact version of the Shot Blast.

To fire, just slide the handle forward and then pull it back. Like the Shot Blast, you can expect your shots to reach anywhere between 20-25 feet on average.
